Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are delighted to return fully in person and to restart more of our clubs, activities, sports, and special programming this year. In addition, we are proud to celebrate our 10-year anniversary of our school's founding, and I would like to share just a few highlights from our community's many achievements. Look forward to hearing about more student and staff accomplishments soon on our social media accounts.
- Energy Tech's Team 5298 FRC Robotics Team won the prestigious FIRST Chairman's Award at a regional competition in 2022, qualifying us to attend the FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX for the first time. The team additionally was awarded the Imagery Award in Honor of Jack Kamen at another event that season for their robot design. Our robotics team will also celebrate their 10-year anniversary this season.
- This year, we are proud to announce new PSAL programs, including an inaugural soccer team that has made it to playoffs in their first season of play, as well as a Girls Volleyball team that will launch in the fall. We will be sharing more announcements about new teams soon.
- This fall we officially celebrated the opening of our new Hydroponic Lab, in partnership with New York Power Authority (NYPA) and NY Sun Works - we are very thankful to NYPA for bringing this opportunity to our school community.
We are eager to share more data and good news - about students' college acceptances, alumni job placement, teacher and staff awards, internship opportunities, and more - as the year progresses. As always, thank you for your partnership, and I look forward to seeing you all in upcoming meetings, Town Halls, and events.
