Respect for All
At Energy Tech High School, our efforts related to Respect for All are aimed at ensuring that all students feel safe, known, and respected in our community. Trained staff members provide support for all students and work with the community to resolve any unkind acts. Staff members work together to ensure that all students feel included, and provide mechanisms to report issues. Workshops are provided for students and staff in themes such as bullying, and staff members also lead freshmen students in “Circles”. In a circle setting, students learn to listen to each other and identify similar experiences, cultural backgrounds, different points of views, and how to respectfully acknowledge differences. Finally, the entire Energy Tech community looks forward to an annual Respect for All Week celebration each February. Past events have included Culture Night, “red carpet” screenings of relevant documentaries and films, etc.
